trogette
So (as I've just posted in General Support) I need to update my elderly MS2.2 shops to 2.3.1 and all their various contributions/add-ons too. I can't even remember which versions I've been using of all the stuff I have (bad changelogger!) and there are some that either don't work properly any more or I stopped using anyway, but I've put together some must-haves and wondered if, in the years since I was active around here, there might be different options to what I knew about, and if some of them might be already in the core code and modules but I just haven't found them yet (downloaded and installed 2.3.1 in the small hours and struggling in my caffeine-free state to wrap my head around what I need to do! ) Here's my wishlist, some of which I've been using, some I'd just really like, some are less urgent than others :): attributes, pricing and stock stock control for attributes (QTPro, though I've also dabbled with Master Products back in the day it never worked quite as I wanted and I stopped using it a while ago.) inline attribute editing on product editing page (Ajax Attribute Manager) actual attribute price the ability to set on a per product or category basis whether zero stock = set to inactive or not (I tried, years ago, to make a contribution for this, called Stock Status Switch, which got uploaded in an almost-working format, not gone looking to see if it's still there or not yet!) a front-end display of approximate lead-time for out-of-stock items set on a per-product basis pricing per customer price-banding by volume set on a per-product/category basis (possibly with the capability to group products to make setting the quantity bands easier) front-end/SEO category/manufacturer description (currently using HTC, on one site in conjunction with STS which appears to be redundant) header tags (HTC gives page title, keywords and description, along with the ability to set a default for the site which can be added to the generated tags or not, also I use the meta-tag description field as the product description on the new products page to give a shorter, snappier description than the one on the main product page.) article manager (possibly with a text editor, the one I used was TinyMCE, though I haven't updated it in a while it is a useful addition) with front-page news module and product tagging. SEO URLs preferably without category/product numbers in, currently using SEO-G Cross-selling - recommended/also-purchased module for product pages Google Merchant Center/Base feed order and customer admin order editor with stock management and history log compatible with QTPro/attribute stock management batch order status update and invoice/packing note printing comments/order contents pop-up (comments/orders-at-a-glance :) ) referral monitor (how did you hear about us?) payment and discounts discount codes and vouchers PayPal, compatible with QTPro and voucher/code system Nochex, compatible with QTPro and voucher/code system I would really like to hear opinions on my options with the above requirements before I plough on with editing code! Thanks :)
Jack_mcs
With regard to the SEO contributions, I recommend - Header Tags SEO - Article Manager V 1_57.X - Ultimate SEO V2.2d. All of the above are 2.3 compatible. Ultimate SEO V2.2d won't provide the urls as SEO-G does, which is just cosmetic, but it doesn't have the problems that contribution has either and is supported and still being developed. For the rest, you should look in the Addons section and use the selector to show just 2.3 contributions. Some of the others you need may be converted too. trogette
Thanks :) I have spotted the also-purchased module, so that's alright, at least!
