hostspring Posted March 10, 2003 Share Posted March 10, 2003 Can someone please tell me if its possible to get the file manager to work in a shared hosting environment? My problem is I get the following error in the File Manager: I can not write to this file. Please set the right user permissions on: [PATH_TO_FILE] Now this is not due to file permissions (I have chmod everything to 777 for testing purposes). Instead, I believe its due to the File Manager trying to write to files as the user running apache. These files, however, are not owned by the user running apache...but instead are owned by the account user. I can make the error go away by chown the files to the user running apache. I obviously can't do this on a shared environment. Has anyone else had this problem or found a solution to this issue in a shared hosting environment?
