Guest
Is it possible to INCORPORATE ZIP CODE-BASED sales tax calculations into osCommerce? Also can one have at least TWO price levels? Say for example, NORMAL PRICE: $10.95; SALES (OR YOUR) PRICE: $8.95!! And what about coupons and the ability to SET THE EXPIRATION DATES for them? And AFFILIATE programs too? IF NOT, maybe someone could add it! (i cannot code)

Guest
Sorry about that. I did not know I should not do that. I am just REALLY in need of the answers to those questions. Again, I apologize and will not do that again. Have a GREAT day!
greree
You should probably abandon this thread and ask the question again in another forum. As soon as people see that you crossposted they'll just say the same thing I did, only not as nice. Rephrase your question so it doesn't look like a crosspost, and put it in the "Contributions" forum.
Guest
All of that can be done, there are contributions for the affiliates and other things. As far as the tax rates there are companies out there that feed tax rates via xml but these companies charge a monthly fee. not to mention you would need someone to work that into your site. jpf
Taxes can be worked via ZONES. By City, province/state, county, country ect.... What ever you set it up as. Zip code would be a lttle harder. There are a few contribution on having muliple price levels. Special prices, Group pricing, discount by customer historical purchases, Wholesale/retail pricing. There is a FREE/SOLDOUT/CALLFORPRICE/SHOWROOMONLY mod also that is handy and flexable and much more. The Gift Voucher and Coupon MOD allow a expire date. Very flexable. Uses a redeam "code" to track gift vouchers. One time use or X time use or unlimited, optiona Min purchase, freight discount and more. OSC-Affilliates Mod - Have not used it but might fit the bill. Guest
I agree with Jason up above. The gift voucher and coupon system is great.. Also I have been recently contracted to do something similar to the affiliate section for a marketing company. What I was trying to say tho about the taxes is the posibility of getting the tax rates in real time like the shipping estimator using curl to get the current rates for they change every year if not a couple of times plus it is a very daunting task to find the rates for every state. So I guess now in reply I would like to ask, I know there are companies that you have to subscribe to to get current tax rates, Does anyone know where there may be a free service that does this, if so I will build a mod for myself and offer it to osc lickity split for I feel it is important
Guest
Is it possible to INCORPORATE ZIP CODE-BASED sales tax calculations into osCommerce? I suppose it would be possible.... but quite a task. I incorporated a USA zip code based mod for a client - the zip codes table contained over 70,000 rows of data - with other columns of data (City, State etc.) the CSV I used was around 4.5mb. Now, these are a lot of zip codes to correlate with specific tax rates - you would definitely have to pay for something like this. Correction: There are this many rows due to postcode/city correlation.
