Basically, although i assign a weight value to a product, and set the 'Display Product Weight' to = 1 (thats enable isnt it?) It will not show up when viewing the product. :? The other thing i am wondering about is, getting some kind of automatic result to occur when a particular weight level is reached. i.e if an item has a weight value of 2, and when the total item weight for an order reaches 10.. i would like to have a shipping charge automatically assigned to the order value.. Im not sure how to get this to work via the weight related admin sections.. maybe i should use product attributes to do this ? Adyx Posted March 7, 2003 Author Share Posted March 7, 2003 just a quick update... worked out that the weight is displayed in the full list of items in a category, but not as an extra element in the info section of an item. I see that product model gets listed in both though... so i should be able to edit product_info.php to display the weight by editing the var calls in there, so any item info's has a weight display if relevant.?? The other bit i am not sure about though.. I see the element for 'Enter the Maximum Package Weight you will ship' and i assume that somewhere the total order weight is being watched.. ive not seen anything happen if i go past the max order weight though. What file / section controls the 'over weight' result ? Im thinking i could probably use this to make a 'shipping charge must be added' box or similar ? has anyone already done this ?
