urgent help needed - my site is not working but displaying full codes of index.php

anyone please advise on what might have happened?

 

Im with godaddy.

 

12hrs ago, my site was working perfectly. I just checked it now, I cannt go into admin side, its index.php codes, shop front is not working but displaying full codes of index.php too.

 

anyone help please.

Looks like godaddy have screwed something up as the content is being served as text/plain rather than being parsed by PHP before being output.

 

I'd suggest you put a ticket in to them to get them to investigate

i just did and they tried to run they own script turned out not work :( they said a ticket has been rase and i have to wait ...

 

Is godaddy really that bad? I also have issue with the error log time stamp. Im in uk, i chose EU server to host my site. but the time on my error log is not even in any of EU time zone. The adviser suggested that i may be able to run a patch script in my database but once again i need to make sure that doesnt mess up my shop time when ppl visiting my shop. Any way i know do it?

In my personal opinion I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole, if they aren't giving you the service you need why not just go elsewhere?

I just transfered to them a month ago :'( I was with Fasthosts but they wont let me run mod_rewrite on shared platform...I had to move solely for that reason. Other than than, I find fasthosts is really reliable and steady, server wise.

 

Im in UK, any suggestion on hosting company that wont cost me an arm?

FYI

 

Had a customer who wanted to ftp a file to bing and was told they have their servers locked down so you cannot ftp files from the server out.

 

Also had horrendous problems trying to get cron jobs as scripts had to end .php or .php5 depending on the "account" settings.

 

Somehow don't think I'll ever recommend them.

Yes I know. I tried to upload Datafeed to google but FTP out are not allowed. Instead I had to disable the auto-FTP script, created a cron job in contral panel to exe datafeed script at fixed time and day. Then go to google setting to get google to fetch the datafeed file from godaddy server at set time and day.

Yer...php4 php5 lol i had that and even i followed precise guide on how to create cron job through control panel, i still getting error notification everyday by email. However the file was created everyday...so I just ignored the email message. Tried to ring Supportline, but the guy was rude and sent me an email regarding how to setting up cron job through control panel. WTF, i aint idoit and dont need idoitproof guide after i have went through all possible options in their guide already n decided to ring them to get a solution.

Oh...just registered on godaddy support forum through their control panel and found out that all post you make, has to be checked by their forum admin before its published to other godaddy customers lmao...amusing indeed

Google base will "collect" a file so no problem there.

 

Sound like you have not updated .htaccess to redirect googlefeed.txt to googlefeed.php as per the installation instructions.

 

For Bing I run the script to create the file on the server and then have a pc that is "on" at the required time that uses scheduled tasks and a do script that collects the file and then sends it to bing. Not elegant but it works.
