germ Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Check the configure.php file on the server to be certain it says what you THINK it says. If you edit it locally and FTP it to the server sometimes permissions on the server don't allow the new config file to overwrite the old one. Also be aware of this. In the includes FOLDER (catalog and admin) where the normal configure.php files are there is a FOLDER named local On some installs there may be a configure.php inside the local FOLDER (catalog and admin) If there is, anything in it overrides anything in the normal configure.php files. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. Thanks i just checked it and ur right its not changing anything even when i edit the configure.php file. Will try to download it delete the old one change it and upload it again. I notice the cookies part needs changing too as that has the url with the default stuff on it too. Have done it now and its working now I just need to sort out the colour of the text as they cant see anything when they try to create an account or log in as its white thanks so much I will try to log into my other cpanel and look at the other css file as that one is fine to establish which class to change on that one and will try to install the 3 picture modes module on both sites, videos for one and the resizing stuff on both sites.
peacenlove Posted November 14, 2010 Author Posted November 14, 2010 I managed to find how to change the color now too on the main text i just added in a line defining what it should be on the CSS file and now its fully working under the class, i just have to edit the image sizes and payment options now to paypal, coz we dont have https set up so its better to use paypal and resize the images on the site when they click to enlarge. Have three other sites to work one other is OS commerce and the other one we are waiting for a plone installation and the final one is just a new template installation which has problems with images and a cart for the book sales, which seems to be taking a while as the webhosts have never installed plone before and noone gets back to you to help you with the templates on the other site. Hopefully they will do it tommorrow as its urgent now and i need to get all the websites functioning properly before i travel. thanks to the OS commerce community for being so helpful and if you want to change the text color on the main page go to CSS and under TD.main you insert the colour code under the line for font size font-size: 11px; line you would insert your colour code as desired and save it color: #ff0000; currently there is a no colour code line there so you have to insert one
