mom2doubles Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 If anyone could help that would be GREAT! I am having an issue with my coupon disappearing when I exit the PayPal Express code. I am a PHP newbie but have a programming background. I have seen some posts on this issue but have not been able to find a work around. Here is the issue. I have a coupon entry on my Select Payment page. I enter the payment and select COD the coupon works fine on the Confirm page. If I select the Paypal Express option on the Select Payment type and enter my coupon code it takes me to paypal to enter my payment details (no totals are displayed until I return to the confirm site). Then when I return (to my confirm page) the coupon is not applied. If I edit the payment type, return to the Payment type page and put in the coupon then hit the continue button (it keeps my paypal express information so I do not get ported to the paypal site) and it goes to the confirm site the coupon value works fine. When I confirm the correct total is sent to paypal. So I need to figure out how to make sure the coupon doesn't 'disappear' when I go to the confirm page after going through the paypal express pages. I am thinking that the $coupon amount is getting reset by the paypal process but I have no idea how to save it or set it up so that it is not reset? I am really stuck on this one and my client is not happy that I cannot get it working as our only payment type is Paypal Express. This is delaying the full launch of our site. Please if anyone can give me some direction on what I need to setup or change it would be wonderful!! :) Quote
web-project Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 instead of having voucher code in session, you will need to modify and use cookies. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues. mom2doubles Posted November 14, 2010 Author Posted November 14, 2010 Thanks for the info. You don't happen to know of any code that will show me how to use cookies to do something like this? (OS Commerce or PHP related?) (sooo... I am assuming that Pay Pal Express is clearing out my session variables?) I appreciate your time to review my question!!!! :) Quote
web-project Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 it's depends on the voucher/discount contribution you use. mom2doubles Posted November 15, 2010 Author Posted November 15, 2010 I finally gave up on the coupon addon that I was using and I decided to try the CCVG add-on. That seems to have solved my problem and not require me to actually try to tackle the code at this time. Now I just have to figure out how to get the pay pal express code to use the user selected shipping method instead of the cheapest one! :) Thanks for replying to my post. This was the first time I couldn't actually find a work around by searching the web. This is an awesome community!!!! Quote
