prettyklicks Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Hi all, I've recently become part of a team who deals with OSCommerce 2.2 What baffles me is everyone seems to be saying that OSCommerce only supports table designs? Is this correct? Surely it supports DIV designs, is there a way of changing it over to a DIV template, if so how? Does v3 support it? Thanks Guys! :)
FIMBLE Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 version 2.3 is out soon, this uses the grid 960 system Also there is an add on for converting your site from tables to css Nic Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post [/url] My Contributions
multimixer Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 A new version (v2.3) will be released within this week, and thats much more div based. But even for the current version (RC2a) there is a addon that converts everything into a div based structure My community profile | Template system for osCommerce - New: Responsive | Feedback channel
prettyklicks Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 FIMBLE and mulitmixer, Thanks very much for the updates on 2.3 and also you replies. Would you be able to provide me with a link to this plugin if possible please? Thanks very much again! Great help! :)
multimixer Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 I think it's this osC to css If you are going to start a new store and are not in the greatest hurry, then it's maybe better to wait a couple of days? You could also take the recent version of v23 from github, and use it to test around, then you replace it with the officially released My community profile | Template system for osCommerce - New: Responsive | Feedback channel
MrPhil Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 What baffles me is everyone seems to be saying that OSCommerce only supports table designs? Is this correct? Up through 2.2 RC2a (the last release), yes. It's "table driven layout", rather than "div + CSS". Surely it supports DIV designs, is there a way of changing it over to a DIV template, if so how? Yes, others have discussed at least one add-on for 2.2, and the (hopefully) upcoming 2.3. Note that many add-ons coded for osC 2.2 will not work with 2.3 (or with 2.2 + div add-on), at least not without some manual coding. Does v3 support it? My understanding is that 3.0 will use div + CSS layout.
