anneliese Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Hi All, Trying everything I can think of to add another field to the shopping cart. ie another box for size selection. Have added the box itself but have not a clue how to connect this to a size selection link that will also appear in the checkout process. Someone out there must know how this can be done!! hope this makes sense Thanks in advance Anneliese
zefeena Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Hi, There are several contributions for 'attributes' which allow you to add size/colour options etc. I did install these on mine but got rid of them in the end. Namely as the stock control counted the whole thing, i.e if you have 10 capped sleeved tshirts, it doesn't know if you have 5 large and 5 small, so when you sell all of the small ones it still allows the sale of another 5 even if someone orders small. Personally from customer point of view i think listing all the items seperatly works better as there is nothing more annoying thean clicking on lots of radio boxes to find things are out of stock. So i'd advise listing like this: t-shirt - capped sleeved - red - size small (qty 3) t-shirt - capped sleeved - red - size large (qty 3) t-shirt - capped sleeved - blue - size small (qty 4) all your quanitties are then stock controlled and when you have sold 3 x red small t-shirts they disappear from the listing - and no-one is spending time click on items you don't have. Also note: that the 'specials' list is in alphabetical order so when you want to have a sale you can find items easily if you list this way. kellie Running a botched up version of osCommerce Online Merchant v2.3.4 bootstrap with the dresscode theme installed, numerous add-ons, terrible coding, terrible website, but will have to make do until I have made up for my losses and can risk shutting down for a couple of weeks while I start all over again. - I did not install my program but am endeavouring to fix it with your help.

anneliese Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 Thanks for that I was doing it that way but thought that it was a little time consuming. Thought there was a easier way with a selection box in the check out area. Oh well I did try! Thanks again for the reply
zefeena Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Hi, If you duplicate your listings it takes no time at all. Just click on the item, press copy, and duplicate. Then edit the new listing with the minor change. If you keep all the chaneable stuff in the title (i.e size and colour), and make the description suit all the listings, then all you need to change is the title and the stock quantity, and the photo if its a different colour.
