store pickup addon help

I added the store pickup addon: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/164 but it is not working. It is installed, set to true, and sort order is 1. I didn't select a zone because the only zone it is offering me is Florida, I am in Missouri so that's no good. The "Store Pick Up Zip Code Allowed" box was populated with two digit numbers, I had no idea what those were for so I populated with zip codes in my area but that didn't work either.

 

Any ideas on how to make this addon work when my customers go to check out? My other shipping method for those who don't live near me, "table rate", works fine and I have the sort order on that set as 2.

Create the Local Pickup Zone in Admin, and then assign the module that zone. The 2 digit number is the number of miles/kilometers around your store, if you would like to set it up that way.

HHMM, don't see where to create the local pickup zone. I'm very new at this so I don't understand tech terms. I'm assuming when you say admin that you mean the not in file manager but somewhere in configuration when I log in to my osCommerce site on the admin side? If so, then in configuration under 'my store' I set the zone as Missouri some time ago so that must not be it.

First off, DELETE FILE MANAGER and DEFINE LANGUAGES from the admin directory for security reasons. Then, in your admin area under locations/taxes you need to create a tax zone, which won't be used for taxes but will be used for shipping. When you create the new zone, you will place your home location and the province/state that you will allow pickup.

Ugh! Still not working :( Thank you for speaking in a language I undersand though! I changed the tax zone to Missouri, went to store pickup in the shipping module, changed the shipping zone from "none" to "Missouri", played with a few different numbers in the "Store Pick Up Zip Code Allowed" box but still not working. Any more suggestions?

It is working now! I'm so happy :) The trick is to get rid of ALL the numbers in the "store pick up zip code allowed" box! That did it! Thanks for your help Chris!

Hi,

 

I wish to alter Store Pickup Shipping Module so that i can pick and choose which products i allow for store pickup.

I thought this would be quite easy such as adding a field to the product in database to set whether it can be picked up or not. If its the only item in the shoping basket allow store pickup. If there is more than one product in the shopping cart and anyone of those does not allow store pickup then diasable store pickup.... Or something along those lines.

 

I could probably code it but i would have to add it to the SPU class and im not too hot on classes.

 

Any help appreciated
