pyramids Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Every few days a customer using comcast.com for email, places an order and gets an email that is blank, same issue for same type customers using "forgot password", they receive the email but the body is blank. I have tried to send email to these same people from the admin area and the same problem. It only effects comcast users that we are aware of. I have tested it with other email accounts and everything is fine. Anyone experience this and found out what it is? Regards, Jeff
FIMBLE Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Hi Jeff could it be something to do with the Spam settings at comcast? I notice that Hot Mail accounts do a similar thing. Do you have an catch all mail that might have returned headers with errros? Nic Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post My Contributions
pyramids Posted November 1, 2010 Author Posted November 1, 2010 Hi Nic, I was thinking the same thing, that it might be a spam setting at comcast. Funny though, we get a copy of the order sent, so when a customer says they got a blank email, we email them the copy we received and they get that. Why do they get that email and not one sent from the server? On the question of returned headers, none returned due to errors, but here is the header from the "admin email order copy" we receive: I wonder if this line is causing an issue: Received: from nobody by host.myserver.com with local (Exim 4.69) Return-path: <> Envelope-to: Delivery-date: Sun, 31 Oct 2010 20:54:26 -0500 Received: from nobody by host.myserver.com with local (Exim 4.69) (envelope-from <>) id 1PCjbO-0006I0-32 for ; Sun, 31 Oct 2010 20:54:26 -0500 To: Subject: Order Process X-PHP-Script: www.mywebsite/checkout_process.php for 74.155.235.156 From: "mywebsite" <> MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: mywebsite Mailer Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Message-Id: <> Date: Sun, 31 Oct 2010 20:54:26 -0500 Jeff
FIMBLE Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Hi Jeff, I just ran a scan on that IP number http://whatismyipaddress.com/blacklist-check and it is clear so i dont think that spam is an issue. Im afraid im not too clued up with emails etc, have you asked your hosting company for advice? Nic Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post My Contributions
