Copy entire store to new domain

Hi all,

 

I have a good working store and now I want to use the same store on another domainname (same server)

 

I just do not want to design the store from scartch again, I just want to change the layout and the products

 

The current store is already perfect for me (also payment method (ideal) etc.

 

It will be a store with complete different products, but the same owner, so it is no problem if payment goes through the current store.

 

I already copied the current shop to the other domain.

I can login to the admin, but when I click on for instance "catalogue" it will redirect to the current domain.

 

Any ideas guys?

You need to update your 2 configure.php files (in folders /includes/ and /admin/includes/) to show the new location.

 

Also update your .htaccess file if you use any SEO url addon

 

(Edit: no payment or anything will go "through" the old store, the new will be a totally independent store. If you want to use ie same payment method in both stores, thats ok, but each store remain a independent unit)

have you had any luck doing the move? I am trying to do the same thing but after I moved everything, I cannot see any of the pages on my site. I did update the config files, but to no avail.

I ended up fixing my issue. Turns out that there were some modules installed that didn't get moved.

 

Word of warning to anyone doing this process - make sure you get ALL the files from your current site!
