kimbo84 Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Hi All This is my first post so I thought I'll introduce my self and my issue at the same time. Well I decided to start my own online business selling woman fashion. After much reading I opted to use oscommerce over the other carts available. I found a free template and have been working on it to make minor adjustments (basically just changing pictures :D ). I have been viewing the site in Safari and everything seems fine. The issue is when I veiw it in internet explorer, my column tabs on the top are miss aligned and come up weird. Is there anyway to fix this? after trying to find info on it, I came to conclusion that it maybe a format issue. Is this correct? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Please keep in mind that I am a complete beginner and no nothing about setting up websites so bear with me as I might not understand your answers
recoil-jay Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Have you got a link to the site? It will be the code, IE likes to think it's special and handle code slightly differently to the likes of Firefox, Chrome, Safari etc. May just be something as simple as setting the right DOC type.
kimbo84 Posted October 27, 2010 Author Posted October 27, 2010 Hi The site is www.essentiality.com.au/store Its still under construction as this is my first go at making a website :D
a.forever Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Before you fix appearances, fix the security of your site: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/topic/313323-how-to-secure-your-site/
kimbo84 Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 Thanks for the info. I totally forgot about the securities. That Link was very helpful. I do have a quick question in regards to the modules/add ons. Will I be able to add all them? or am I only meant to add one? You're able to use as many add-ons or modules as you like, so long as they don't conflict with each other. Some add-ons are known to have problems with others, but you should be using all the security ones.
