WonderSlug Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Is there a simpler way to 'batch' enter product attributes, so I don't have to enter each of dozens of options for similar items? My storefront sells clothing, typically pants/shorts, and shirts as those are the bestsellers. I have hundreds of items entered. Nearly every item has waist sizes from 28 to 50, pant length/inseam sizes from 28 to 38, and a bunch of available colors. It comes out to 30 to 40 options per item. Right now, it takes about 15 minutes per item to enter each option individually. Doing this for 4 hours per day, it's going to take a whole month to complete. So, instead of entering 500 items x 40 options each, for 20000 options, each option one at a time, is there a simple way I can just highlight a single item, and enter a bunch of options all at once? Something like highlight "waist size" and then hold down CTRL and click on 28, 29, 30, ..., 48, 50 then click on INSERT and it adds all those waist sizes as options. Is there an add-on that will let me do that? -- Walter -- Walter
Debs Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 With this upgrade you can simply create a template or templates with whatever attributes you want, plus sort the order of the attributes etc. It is a simple install and works well. You can then very quickly apply the template to your selected products... to entire catagories or whatever you choose. Very quick. http://forums.osquantum.org/index.php?showtopic=1411&hl=
Mailware Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 The Easy Populate and Product Attributes add-on may be of help to solve your frustrations. This add-on downloads all of your products into a csv file where you can them edit them at your own discretion and then re-upload them to update your products. Go to http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/500 for more information regarding the Easy Populate and Product Attributes add-on webpage. If not this one, explore other osCommerce add-ons to see if there are others that may better suit your needs. I hope this gives you some insight into your current dilemma. Best of luck.
