A few things I need help on

Hello all,

I come here seeking help with my store. Absolutely fantastic software but have NO experience with coding. Through the powers of Google I've encountered answers to most of my problems. But I'm still trying to figure out a few things:

- How to remove the clip art for reviews + notifications.

- A few of my product names are long and are cut off. I saw something with phpMyAdmin but I'm totally confused. Looking for someone to take me step by step to help fix this.

- How to make products available for download. I'm using OScommerce as an Mp3 store for my record label to sell our music. I need to know how to make them available for download and also where to upload the mp3s so that the customer has them for download after paying for them.

Lastly a question, while no purchases have been made yet. Havent exactly linked anyone to the shop yet...when purchases are made will it show the customers who bought this product also purchased (example)??

Thanks in advance for anyones help. Looking to resolving these issues ASAP!

The clip art is nothing more than any other image. Except that they usually are links as well. If you do not want the image, and do not need the link, then the best thing to do is to create a 1x1 px blank image and upload it with the name of the image you do not want.

If you would rather remove the code then that can also be done.

Purchases normally generate an email to the shop owner and can be seen in the Administration pages.

I don't do downloads but have heard that osC or some hosts have a problem with large downloads. If your MP3s are large and do not work as expected you might try to package them compressed with your favorite zip tool.

Set your order status the allow the downloads at the selected level. There are some menu options in your Administration pages. Just browse around and you may figure it out. As I said, I don't do download products so I can't be much help.

Well removing the clip art was easy enough. lol

The MP3s are 320kbps encoded and avg file size is 10-12 MB. Someone told me I had to make a separate folder called download and upload my entire catalog as a ZIP file. But what happens when we release a new song? Do I have to update the zip and re-upload ?? Doesnt make sense as that would be a pain... anyone clarify that for me??

Another tip I was giving was most important by securing all the downloads so people just dont pretend to fill everything out and get the mp3 without paying. I need help making the downloads secure.

My shop is in example: domain.com/shop

Do I do domain.com/shop/download <--- to stick the products for purchase - still confused on that one.

In admin panel...

For product option: option name = Download

For option value: option name = Download + Option value = Only <--- Is that OK??

Now under product attributes I see filename.. do i stick the exactly url for each product of where its uploaded to my server?? Or just filename.mp3? Cuz usually when i buy mp3s from a download outlet the address of the download is something really long and hard to memorize. lol

Lastly the product name bein cut off, havent tackled that issue yet.

Fix ** - Enabled downloads and figured out admin panel stuff regarding product option/option value.

Just need to know where I stick the files.
