Bossman45 Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 I am trying to recover lost login information. I am sure this info is listed in the database (it should be under admin if I am thinking correctly) but I can not find it. There are no tables that give me an indications that login information is kept there. Can some one help!? Thanks!

If the most recent version, you cannot learn your password, but you can learn your username. It is best to simply truncate your Administrators table in the database. On next log in it will tell you there is no administrator and then require you to create one. Community Bootstrap Edition, Edge Avoid the most asked question. Bossman45 Posted October 26, 2010 Author Posted October 26, 2010 Hi MD - This is a solved issue. Correct login path was found at https rather than http.
Bossman45 Posted October 26, 2010 Author Posted October 26, 2010 I am suggesting to my client that we change all login information for the site. I have looked high and low for a place to change login info in the admin section and the database. I can not find it. What is the exact way to change both the username and password for the admin section?

You cannot change the database passwords here. To change the database passwords you use phpMyAdmin. If it is directory security, you use your hosts cPanel. Bossman45 Posted October 26, 2010 Author Posted October 26, 2010 I have version osCommerce 2.2-MS2 and I am in the admin area on the site and I do not see an Administrator function. Can you tell me what category is it in and what is it labeled? Here is a screen shot of my admin area. I am trying to change the password for the ADMIN area of the site. http://www.nebulacompany.com/imageDump/screen.png Note: this is what it looks like with Modules expanded. Ref. other problem we have talked about.

You have to rely on the directory security to protect your admin area. Someone else will surely come along a confirm that or lend a hand. You will likely get a lot of suggestions to upgrade... Bossman45 Posted October 26, 2010 Author Posted October 26, 2010 Thanks. Okay this makes a bit more sense. I think I an sell the client on an upgrade. I've downloaded the file oscommerce-2.2rc2a and I see it has an installer available. However, I do not see any allocations for upgrade. Is there a simple and straight forward way to upgrade the site without having to rebuild everything (products, database, etc..)?
