GBP showing as 0

Sorry for posting yet another thread on these boards about default currency, but having followed the pointers I've seen on here it still isn't working for me at the moment...

• I've created a new currency as GBP and set it to 1.000 and my default. I've then deleted the other currencies.
  
• I've checked that my 'Switch to default language currencey' is set to false
  
• I've gone into english.php in includes/languages and changed USD to GBP
  
• I've also gone into english.php in admin/includes/languages, but I can't see USD anywhere in there.
   
  

 

 

From the other posts I've read this should be all I need to do, but clearly not as it still isn't showing a value, just 0.

 

I'm stumped about where I'm going wrong, any help would be really appreciated.
