You don't need that many add-ons. The new V2.3 oscommerce has built in Header TAGs. If you are running V2.2 you can try HEADER TAGS SEO for your all your onpage SEO. Besides that you can have SEO URLs, try the USU5 addon.

There's not a standard set of changes for all shops. It really depends upon your keywords. If there isn't much competition for the keywords you are targeting, you may be able to get away with just using Header Tags SEO. Some sites require many more changes to be made. In general though, the more changes you make, the better your site will do. See my signature for the SEO changes I recommend.

i read it.

im thinking of install those:

Header Tags SEO - This is the standard that all other meta tags contributions are judged against. The main, and only, advantage the other meta tags contributions have over this one is that they are easier to install. Persoanlly, I can't beleieve someone that recommends such an important change would recommend it based upon how easy it is to install. The bottom line is that if you want the best results for your shop, this is the only choice. But if you are looking for easy and quick, then choose any of the other meta tags contributions since they are all basically the same.

Ultimate SEO V2.2d - The original and still the best rewriter available for oscommerce. It is not only 100% compatible with all other contributions, it provides the best rewritten urls with regards to SEO. One contribution actually inserts the category name as a directory, which is a very bad SEO practice.

Google XML Sitemap SEO - Provides site maps that the search engines use.

Sitemap SEO - Provides a site map for your customers as well as the search engines.

All Products SEO - Provides a products site map for both customers and the search engines.

Google Feeder - The only way to get your products listed on googles shopping section

jack what is better, USU 2.2dv or v5?

Much higher priority than SEO. See the security forum, the pinned topic "How to secure your site."

tnx , ill check it out

Please do more than 'check it out.'

There are those that had their shop up for only a couple of hours before the hackers got to it and trashed it.

tnx for the tip.

i looked into that and i see the post and most of the comments are from 2008. what are the things that are still relevant?

You'll have fewer compatibility problems with 2.2d, it offers support for contributions you may want to use later on, like Information Pages and Article Manager, and it, in my opinion, provides better seo-type urls.

The thread was started in 2008 but is still active. All of the fixes may, or may not, apply to your shop but you should check them.

what you recommend to install?

You need to make whatever changes are needed to secure your shop. If you are not sure, then you need to ask in that thread, or one of the others that covers security.
