john12144 Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 We recently installed osCommerce 2.2, we sell custom t-shirts. There are a few things that have us confused. The first thing that confuses us is order status. Which one means that payment has been received, so we know to send the customer a product? We use Paypal. The second thing is sizes. We get this message: Products marked with ** dont exist in desired quantity in our stock. You can buy them anyway and check the quantity we have in stock for immediate deliver in the checkout process. Except that for every size we have the inventory set to 100. We're using product attributes, it shows up at the bottom of the product page in the admin panel and asks how much we have quantity of in each size. Are we doing something wrong? John

John John, it may depend on which PayPal version you have installed. I use PayPal standard. In that case the order status is determined by by what you set in the configuration part of PayPal standard. In my case, order status is: Set Preparing Order Status Preparing [PayPal Standard] Set PayPal Acknowledged Order Status Processing Couple of things, if the customer fails to return to your site you might not see a purchase in the shop. But the PayPal site will show that and let you know by email if you have PayPal (not the add on, I mean the PayPal site) set up that way. (Note..I understand the PayPal IPN add on for osC deals with this glitch, but haven't gotten around to installing that yet. But if the customer does complete the purhase "correctly" I will see the "Processing" order status. And that means I have a sale. Hope that helps with the first part of your inquiry. Good luck I am not a professional webmaster or PHP coder by background or training but I will try to help as best I can. I remember what it was like when I first started with osC. It can be overwhelming. However, I strongly recommend considering hiring a professional for extensive site modifications, site cleaning, etc. There are several good pros here on osCommerce. Look around, you'll figure out who they are.

♥altoid Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Can anyone help with the inventory for different sizes problem? I am not sure what version you have there for a shop, but I run osCommerce Online Merchant v2.2 RC2a. For that I had to install Quantity Tracking Pro (QTPro) to track inventory by attribute. Without that add on, I could use attributes, but they were not tracked by size, color, etc. I am not a professional webmaster or PHP coder by background or training but I will try to help as best I can.
