Synodontis Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 I have renamed my admin folder as suggested for security reasons, but when I try to place the admin folder in htaccess I am getting The requested URL /store/viyasaad/login.php was not found on this server. I realize I am probably missing changing a url somewhere, but I do not know where. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Gary
germ Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 viyasaad isn't the name of your admin folder. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. Synodontis Posted October 10, 2010 Author Posted October 10, 2010 Ok so correcting the url issue I am asked to log in but then get same error except noe The requested URL /store/admin/login.php was not found on this server. again, any help Thanks Gary
germ Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 We went over this once before, but I'll post it again anyway. In the includes FOLDER (catalog and admin) where the normal configure.php files are there is a FOLDER named local On some installs there may be a configure.php inside the local FOLDER (catalog and admin) If there is, anything in it overrides anything in the normal configure.php files. The only other thing I can think of is for you to check the admin config file ON THE SERVER and BE SURE it says what YOU THINK it says. If you edit it locally then FTP it to the server sometimes permissions on the server prevent it from being overwriten. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. Synodontis Posted October 10, 2010 Author Posted October 10, 2010 Ok so I believe I found the 2 files you were talking about, They had permissions of 444 so I have now changed then to 755.I still get error 404 The requested URL /shop/admin/login.php was not found on this server. I have done all changes directly on the server so there should be no overwrite issues. Also what am I looking for in the admin folder config file. Thanks again, Gary
germ Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 755 won't allow them to be overwritten by FTP sometimes. 666 would. Did you examine the contents? What you tell me and what the server is telling you are in direct conflict. Not meaning to be rude, crude, or obnoxious, but I'm going to believe the server - it knows what it's doing and just runs programs. The lines you need to change are outlined in the first post here: Security Issue With Admin Directory If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
