VAT on delivery

Hi there,

 

I'm trying to add VAT to the order total including delivery.

 

I've got a flat rate delivery charge which means if an order is > £150 delivery is free - under that you pay £9.40

 

When I get to the Order confirmation screen VAT is only being applied to the sub-total and NOT the sub-total plus VAT

 

For example.

 

Sub-Total: £57.70

Delivery cost (UK Mainland): £9.40

UK VAT @ 17.5%: £10.10

Total: £77.20

 

How can make it apply the VAT to the overall cost? Any ideas?

Hi, try placing your order total so that shipping comes BEFORE subtotal and see if the problem clears up.

Did you set any tax class to your flat delivery in admin>modules>shipping>flat click on edit?

Barbara - I've just tried that and it did not work, the order is now:

 

Flat Rate (Best Way): £9.40

Sub-Total: £57.70

UK VAT @ 17.5%: £10.10

Total: £77.20

 

George - I've check that and it is:

 

Shipping -> Flat rate

 

Enable Flat Shipping

True

 

Shipping Cost

9.40

 

 

Tax Class

Taxable goods

 

 

Shipping Zone

UK

 

 

Sort Order

1

 

 

Any other ideas?

I've also tried adding a new tax class for shipping but that does not work either - this is driving me mad!

OK I think this is now resolved - my config settings remained as above but I reverted to a previous version of "checkout_confirmation.php" and this resolved it. The previous developer must have done something to this file which caused the issue. I've not worked that out yet!
