filipgaliza
Hi Folks, I have a store all setup and now the last step is to delete all the stuff from the dummy database and import the 50 or so products that are in the Exel spreadsheet. My server has myPHPadmin software on it however I dont know how to use it. Soooo, I dont mind paying someone to help me out on this matter. Here is what needs to be done: 1. purge all the dummy products( dvds, etc...) 2. purge the dummy categories 3. insert new categories 4. insert new products (products dont have any variables such as color, size, etc). If you could help me out and you know how to use myPHPadmin please email me how much you would charge for this and please list some samples of other projects you have done with OSCommerce. Thanks! vonbrocklin
Um, if you only have 50 products why not just add them through admin? It couldn't take you more than a couple hours.
loxly
Go to admin and delete the categories that are there, that will delete the products as well. Go to contributions and download Easy Populate and follow the directions to upload from an Excel Spreadsheet. If you still need to pay someone, ask again. This really is an easy task for you with the above, especially if your products are already in a spreadsheet. edmond87
Thanks, Filip, for asking the exact question I had. I'm extremely new at this, but look forward to learning as much as possible ASAP! My question for the group (especially Debbie, thanks for the GREAT tip) is if I use Easy Populate, will the associated info fields, particularly product codes, be linked into the site as well? If not, must I do that manually? I don't think there's enough Mountain Dew in the world for that.... Thanks for any assistance Kimberly
loxly
Follow the directions for Easy Populate and all will become clear :-) When you download the contribution there is a very complete hadbook that explains everthing you need to know, then you can ask questions and we can help you out. You just need to assign a unique product code for each product, which is very easy to do in excel by doing a drag and fill.
