Hi,

I have basic knowledge in OsCommerce but I am not familiar with this tool. I explained my requirement below, please go through it and me know OsCommerce meets my requirement. If not please let me know which tool is good for the requirements.

Thanks in advance.

MY REQUIREMENT

I have a site named www.mysite.com (please note I am not a store owner, I just have a site) and I have 3 friends Friend 1, Friend 2 and Friend 3 each one having a store namely ABC Store, DEF store and GHI store.

Each friends having account in the site.

Those friends should have following access in OsCommerce front end.

(1) View their profile

(2) Add and manage Categories and Products.

(3) View their orders

(4) Order status update.

Important thing is all the above should be done in front end i.e not in admin panel (www.mysite.com/admin/)

Please let me know my requirement is possible in OsCommerce or any other tool is available for the requirement?

Thanks.

Are these three completely independent stores, or are you looking to share aspects, such as a common shopping cart and checkout and customer base, or shared merchandise? If the three are completely independent of each other, you're best off installing three separate stores and three separate databases, as ABC.com or yoursite.com/ABC or ABC.yoursite.com. On the other hand, to share some aspects is somewhat difficult in osC (it wasn't designed to do that). Some code patches may exist to do some of these things, but you need to list just what needs to be shared among the stores.

MrPhil,

Thanks for your comments.

It's not three Independent store, I have to manage it in single store (single web site - www.mysite.com).

Please advise is there any option to get my requirements for Cost?

Thanks.

osC really wasn't designed to do that. However, if you look at the "add-ons" list on this site, you might search on "substore" "multiple stores", "multiple admin", etc. and see if you come up with anything that might do what you want. You might also search the overall discussion forum for terms like that -- I'm sure such things have been asked for and discussed many times -- you might see some suggested add-ons.
