DataMouse Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 Hi all I have a wine store that I'm working on, and I would like to add an additional type of search to it. I have created categories such as "Grape", "Colour", "Country" etc, and these have values underneath them as you might expect. These display and work perfectly well in the advanced search page. What I would like to do is have a single dropdown box for "Country", than lists only the chld categories for "Country". I would then repeat this for "Grape", "Colour" etc. I would then need a query to show all of the selected dropdowns (such as "Red", "France", "Shiraz", for example). The last option is that if no value is selected, all of the categories are searched. I hope that makes sense :) Can any one please help? ♥kymation Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 It sounds like you are trying to create the Products Specifications Addon from scratch. Regards Jim See my profile for a list of my addons and ways to get support.
DataMouse Posted October 9, 2010 Author Posted October 9, 2010 Thanks Jim It does look like what I need. However, I have a heavily (very heavily) altered installation and the documentation doesn't clearly state what should be changed. I can manually go through every file looking for "Products Specifications" comments - but I don't want to miss anything. If there's a step-by-step guid for modified stores, that'd be perfect. If not, I reckon I could do it with 3 queries to give me the drop down contents, then one query to perform the search based on the dropdown selections. The issue I have is what these queries should be and how to implement them :-( Thanks again DM I had a blind date last night. Her name was ..:. :.: :: .. ::. :. ::.
