random products showing up in customers carts

Hi all,

 

On certain occasions my customers are telling me that when they checkout they notice items in their cart that they claim are not ones they have added. (very rarely but enough so that it worries me). I was thinking this has something to do with sessions but I have been forcing cookie use for a while now so its not like the issues where sessions get mixed up with other users due to search engine session ids being shared....

 

I have been running my site for a few years now and never ran into this issue.

 

Here are my session settings if this helps:

 

Session Directory /tmp (i use mysql to store sessions)

Force Cookie Use True

Check SSL Session ID True

Check User Agent False

Check IP Address False

Prevent Spider Sessions True

Recreate Session True

 

any suggestions greatly appreciated!
