Site suddenly broken

I am not sure what has happened, but clicking on any category now brings the following error:

 

Fatal error: Call to a member function add_current_page() on a non-object in /home/public_html/catalog/includes/application_top.php on line 337

 

That line looks like this:

 

 }
 $navigation->add_current_page();

 

Anyone know why this is?

 

I would really appreciate a quick answer, as my site is currently useless.

 

I have searched for these error messages and found nothing.
