Guest Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I would like to validate my store when it's complete using W3C valdiation, but I'm not sure how I would do that, conisdering the mix of html and php on the pages. If the pages were just html pages that would be straight forward by just entering the code into the validator. My site has been customized using add-ons so that most of the html styling is removed to css, so on some pages there is very little html. Is it just a case of entering the html code that's left into the validator? I did try this but it didn't seem to work that well. I would be interested to know how others have dealt with this, and if anyone has any tips. Thanks :)
Mark Evans Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 If you site is available online why not just use W3 Validator Put in the URL to your site and it will test it. The other option is to select Direct Input on the above and then view your page in a browser, then view source and paste in the box A 3rd option would be to use a firefox addon Mark Evans osCommerce Monkey & Lead Guitarist for "Sparky + the Monkeys" (Album on sale in all good record shops) --------------------------------------- Software is like sex: It's better when it's free. There is also a contribution that gives a validated stock oscommerce (which you probably won't find that useful given that your store is already modded. Also the doctype used there was XHTML if I remember correctly). So I would suggest finding the thread in Tips, and also just following the advices of the W3C validator for the errors found. Some errors are simple to fix eg. replacing < /BR> with <BR> etc.
