cheeky1 Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Hello, I trying to set up a discount coupon so that I am able to give a customer their products for free & with free postage. The coupon is fine (I set it up for 100% discount) & I have figured out the free postage but how can I get rid of the tax charges? The Discount Coupons Mod by kgt says the discounts are applied before tax but I want it to be applied after tax. heres an example for you: Product#1 $20.00 Product#2 $15.00 Product#3 $12.00 Subtotal $47.00 Discount $47.00 Total $4.70 Even though it says it has applied the 100% discount it still holds on to the tax.... how do I get rid of it???? Any ideas? Thanks KB
Guest Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Kirsty, You should check with local tax laws before doing that. I don't know of any country that will allow you to collect taxes on a price BEFORE discounting it. Most tax laws require taxes to be collected on the selling price. Chris
cheeky1 Posted October 19, 2010 Author Posted October 19, 2010 Thanks Chris, In Australia, small business operators don't have to collect tax until we earn over a certain threshold. Any ideas on how to chnage the discount coupon contribution? Thanks, Kirsty Kirsty, You should check with local tax laws before doing that. cheeky1 Posted October 19, 2010 Author Posted October 19, 2010 Thanks Chris, In Australia, small business operators don't have to collect tax until we earn over a certain threshold. Any ideas on how to chnage the discount coupon contribution? I do not wish to collect tax on the selling price before the discount. I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. Refer to the example I gave. I want to be able to apply discount coupons and if the discount is 100% I don't want the customer to still be charged just the tax portion. Anyone able to help please????? :( Thanks, Kirsty
