Hello everyone,

I have two quick question hopefully someone will answer for me :)

1. Where can I get good free templates for OsC ?

2. Is there a guide to installing templates ?

Thank you to anyone that can help me.

1, this depends on your level of what "Good" means, some people will take a heap of shite if its free which does not always mean its good, you need to not only look at the aesthetics, but also the underlying code which possible has been messed up beyond all recognition meaning that you are then unable to add contributions, support will be lacking (no-one here will help as the code will not be osC std, and that’s not being mean just the way it is) so you may well end up with a dead store you either need to repair yourself or hire someone to do it, which will not make it free.

2, With a free template its very doubtful you will get detailed install help from any guide.

You are probably better off either doing it yourself and learning how to, or getting someone to make it for you.

Regards

Nic

Where should I begin the journey of learning to do it myself?

I already have an OsC site I paid someone else to build. I'm making a new one for a family member as a favour because she is family. ;)

I can possibly copy and adapt my existing store.

I installed Osc on her host but I don't understand how to stylise it, where to even begin. I understand using and installing it but not stylising it.

Then you will indeed struggle!

it depends on the style of the look required by your family member, i have some template in the add-ons section for free but not sure if they are what they are looking for, also there are plenty of others to choose from there, i cannot speak for their code though only my own.

Yes you will be able to do as you say with your own site, change the images to ones that suit you just need to overwrite the old with the new to do that and it might be your starting point to learn how it all works.

A complicated program is osC but in small sized bite you should be able to handle it by asking us all here, it depends on your determination to see it through really.

If you are after an easy exit then look at the templates in the add ons, they are your best chance for getting one that is fairly decent.

Here are mine anyhow http://addons.oscomm...y?search=bubble
