longhorn1999 Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I came across an interesting post today about cross-selling products. http://www.getelastic.com/duplicate-cross-sell/ In the screenshot there's a 'Related Items' section and a 'People who liked this item ultimately bought' section. Any ideas as to whether this is a good idea at all? I'm already using Optional Related Products 4.0a (http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2293) for the Related Items section, and it's at the bottom of the page horizontally as is the standard procedure in osC. I use this mainly for replacement parts and add-on products. Are any of the other cross-sell add-ons compatible with Optional Related Products to put in this other section? http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/1415 http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/5347 http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/6733 Or can ORP 4.0a be duplicated so that there's a second box below the first? Is there any way to put the kind of box or section that Amazon has where they say 'X% of customers bought this product, Y% of customers bought that product, etc...'?
Hotclutch Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 You can have ORP and the stock oscommerce "Also purchased module" below each other without problem. I can't see why you would want to have another cross-sell module alongside ORP, they achieve basically the same thing.

Yeah, I'd disabled the Also Purchased module so long ago, I forgot it even existed. I guess I'll try XSell 2.7.2 to try to give personalized recommendations and keep using Optional Related Products for replacement parts, etc.
