How to Auto Change Currency to USD when selecting PayPal in Payment Page?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My default currency is MYR (Malaysia ringgit), and I have set my Paypal account to process only USD currency at Paypal. PayPal has no problem retrieving USD price from OSC for processing, but the order recorded at my store in customer account is still showing in MYR currency. I want it to auto change to USD currency in the order record when customer selecting paypal.

When customer select Paypal at the payment page, I want to have the currency (default is MYR) changed to USD automatically and give a prompt message (pull down from top) that the currency is now in USD when a customer selects Paypal.

Is that possible? Any guides?

Best regards,

hi Jack,

Thank you very much your replying! (Your contributions are amazing! I love them!)

What I am hoping to get is just a simple modification.

1. When customer click / select PayPal payment method, I want the currency to automatically changed to USD, and show a pull down message that the currency is now in USD.

Can be done via javascript?

You can force the currency back to the default on checkout with that option in admin. But the dropdown would require a code change. I would do it that way though since it will cause extra work for your customers. When you go to the payment and/or confirmation page, just check the currency in use and then add a message, probably in color, along the lines of:

Please note that prices are now in US funds
