gregcorliss Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 Okay, I am having alot of problems with my installation. Im not sure if Im installing it right or what. I downloaded 2.2 and unzipped it opened up the folder it created within that folder there is another folder called catalog, within this folder there is yet another folder named catalog, CVS and Extras. I uploaded the catalog file and CVS File. Okay now I open the admin file, there is a CVS and Admin file I upload both of these within the catalog file however there is a CVS file within this directory so I didnt upload it. It's kind of confusing. Why don't they just package the whole deal in the way your going to upload it to your root directory? Anyway I can get the admin to work fine but when I load up the catalog itself it comes up with an error. Fatal error: Failed opening required 'includes/application_top.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/gregcorl/public_html/hempthis/catalog/default.php on line 13 Before I tried 2.2 I uploaded 2.1 and got it to work fine, Ive also made several sites using phpnuke. I took 2.1 down and put 2.2 up because according to the download site 2.1 isn't being supported anymore. I posted the errors yesterday and didn't get any kind of response. I would really like to get this working.

gregcorliss Posted March 5, 2003 Author Posted March 5, 2003 Wow, Nice guide, thanks. I pretty much did as the guide said. Im going to wipe my whole installation and start from scratch again see if maybe I had some files in the wrong place.
smiley Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 Yes it is. I don't upload the extras dir or the obvious stuff. .pdf files etc. Then I simply create a directory - add the contents of catalog there; add admin as a sub directory; create your database; insert oscommerce.sql. I then hand edit the 2 config files: admin/includes/configure.php catalog/includes/configure.php Quicker than using the install. :D HTH Neil Common sense is genius dressed in working clothes.
