error on delivery and mailing address

I get this error in checkout on the order information page

 

htmlspecialchars() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /home/gcksca/public_html/catalog/includes/functions/general.php on line 42

 

Can anyone tell me what this means and if there is an easy fix - I'm new and still learning so be kind :)
