Site width & height jumpy on My Account & Checkout pages

Don't know whether this should be posted here or at Firefox forum

 

Its rather strange that when I click in either "My Account" or "Checkout" that the header "shrinks" upwards about 8-10pixels,and narrows about 20 - 30px and hence everything on that particular page is slightly further up the browser page. Also when this happens on either of these 2 pages the "breadcrumbs" text seem to be in a slightly smaller font.

 

There are no mods to the site. Except for the width. Even so I did download another OScommerce and the same "shrinkage" happened. All works fine in IE8.

 

Anyone any ideas, or is it perhaps a Firefox problem
