Hi, wonder if anyone can help with an issue I have

When I edit a file (shipping.php for example) in Define languages then hit save, it just comes back with a blank page and nothing changes.

Ive looked at the file permissions all 755, nothing in the error log.

In using 2.2 rc2.

Can't find any articles with similar problems but if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be great.

TIA

I would refrain from using that to be honest and use a text editor instead.

Download the file to your localhost (preferable) of your desktop and edit it then upload it once again via FTP overwriting the original.

If you create your site in localhost then you always have an upto date working backup

Thanks for that tip Fimble, I would do that myself but the sites for someone who is lacking computer skills :/

Any ideas to what it could be?

That’s up to you, but if you continue to use the file manager in admin then it is going to break your site, and if the folder name for admin is still admin you are at an increased risk of being hacked.

if you have Cpanel hosting then you will have a file manager built into that, im not sure about other types of cpanels they might have also.

If you really want to know what the problem is then i would imagine it would be permissions, the files are not set to be written to, which is another safety thing.
