Hi Remmy

i doubt that the two programs will speficy the type of file to open as, mor they are following default file behaviour, in other words do you .php files open in notepad as default?

You can tell by right clicking one and then open with and see which is the default program, you can also change it here if you so wish.

Also when unxxipped do they retain the .php extention?

Hi Nic thanks for your answer!! well I have now unzipped the fil with WinRAR. so it is now just a sql fil!! no some of my .php files open in Macromedia Dreamwear 8.

no the database fil am tryin to open does not retain the .php extention only sql entention!!

Nic the database should be folders with files right?? how come when i have unzipped this one with WinRAR, IT IS just one fil.

If its the databse then yes it will be the one file with all of the tables and information in there, if you want to add this to your new store, you can do so via either your phpmyadmin, or you can upload it to the backups directory on your new site and then use the admin tool (admin / tools / backups) to add it.
