Guest Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Hi All. Has anybody found a way of resolving the permisions issue with image uploads and 777 permisions. If not can anybody point me in the direction of changing the upload image to a text name so a manual sftp image can be used to upload image? By this I mean all that is uploaded is the path and not the image itself. I.E. domain/images/image.jpg Just the directory is uploaded and we carry out a manual upload of the image first through an sftp program. Looks like this also affects the same with the banners folder to! so applying the same thing here would help to. Regards. Shane.
Guest Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Shane, What /images issues are you referring to ? I run 705 permissions on my sites without an issue and also have .htaccess files in my /images directories to prevent 'nosey' surfers from seeing it. Chris

You could do something like this It doesn't stop unwanted uploads from would be hackers, it just stops them from running their trash thus rendering them ineffective. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
