Is it possible to include the google analytics script in Oscommerce sites? If so, which files should it be copied to if I wanted to track my homepage/ landing page?

I'm confusing myself I think, but I do want to do this correctly the first time. This is what google's directions say: Once you find the code snippet, copy and paste it into your web page, just before the closing </head> tag*. If your website uses templates to generate pages, enter it just before the closing </head> tag in the file that contains the <head> section.

But in the footer.php code, I do not find <head> tags at all. Do I put it before the last </table> tag?

Thank you ahead for your help (and patience with us beginners).

I added the google code just before the last </script> in the includes/footer.php file. It seems to work where it is, so try putting is there.

There is rather a nice add-on for google analytic. You can turn it on and off and it suggest 4 places where you should install it rather than on every page.
