Desperately Need PayPal Donate Type Function! HELP!

I have found some discussion of this in the forums, but no conclusive answers. No add on modules either that I can tell.

I can see that I can probably code it, but it will eat up the hours of the job, to where I will lose money on project.

What I need is the store to sell products and for the user to make donations (this is for a non-profit).

Anyone successfully code this yet? Or have a method with the current framework/modules? This would save me a great deal of time and frustration.

THANKS!

***Important***

PayPal donate is NOT an option. The client cannot, will not, nor wants to use PayPal. Please do not suggest this as an option or question the client. This is just they way it is! Thanks.

I believe there is a contribution for this.

My mistake. You are correct.

It was on paypal's site that you can obtain their donate button.

Is there a reason why making a product, dollars to donate won't work? I.e. you have a product called donations that is measured in dollars (or whatever currency). If a customer wants to donate $10, they would just enter 10 in the quantity field. You process the order normally from there. When you get it, just mark the order as delivered in Admin (you may want to copy down customer details for followup mailings or something).

Good luck,

Matt
