Looking For Advice - OSC + Forum

Hi,

 

In the line of business my shop deals with, there is a lively and well populated set of online forums.

 

Im thinking of starting my own, and am thinking of using the "Simple Machines" software suite.

 

I have read a few old posts on the subject and about not linking between the two due to losing OSCsid.

 

Would it be best to use a new domain or a sub-domain of my OSC Site?

 

I was thinking of using ads for products on my site instead of the usual type Google add's on the forum.

 

Any views or advice would be appreciated.
