How do we use discount codes? For example, we would like to give our customers a code to get 15% off their order for our grand opening special

In the discount code area of the admin, there is a link in the top right corner with instructions.

 

But basically, create the code and then give your customers the code by posting it in the homepage or email it to them in a newsletter......etc.

If you installed the discount contribution, you will see it under catalog, and then a sort order option under modules/order total.
