My store has just recently got hacked and I want to back up my database files, so that when my site goes down I can pull it back up from a flashdrive immediately. Thank you for your help.

There are no "databasefiles"

There is a database and there are files, and each needs to be backed up separately.

To back up the files, you need to keep a local copy of all of them on your computer (all contents of folder "catalog"

To back up the database, you can use the tool in your osCommerce admin, or do it via phpMyAdmin, that you can access via your host cpanel (export database)

Thank you for your help once again.. Would you happen to know how to back up my whole website not just the store from my host's cpanel?

What do you mean with "whole website"?

If you mean that you have an other site that is plain html, then it is the same thing, download them to your computer and always keep a copy of them. You will find the files at the filemanager of your cpanel, same as for osCommerce

If it is something like wordpress etc that has a database, then you need to backup this too, in he same way as the osc database

A website is a number of files (+ in some cases a database)

In general: You do all changes on your local files (again a second backup before altering) and then you upload to the server

Also: read the pinned security topic on top of this forum (installation part)
