tax display problem

Hi All,

I'm new to oscommerce and i have experience a little problem with my website. I hope someone can help me or give me some tips here.

i constructed a site in Canada, so for those of you who is canadian should know we have a very complicated tax system. So at the moment, i have pretty much everything setup, including the UPS modules and paypal modules. Everything work perfectly fine, but there is something acting weirdly.

When i try to put thru a test transaction as a buyer from Ontario (the same province where i'm shipping it from), the tax would not be displayed in the total. But if i change the address to another province (example Alberta), the site will properly show and calculate the tax. Now the wiredest thing is if i switch back to the first address (the ontario address), this time the site will properly show and calculate the tax.

So i do not know what went wrong because if it is the tax setup problem then the site will not properly show the tax the second time around.

Appreciate if anyone can help me. Thanks in advance.

Ryan,

If your taxes and zones are set up correctly, it should show the taxes (HST and/or GST) for your products if your billing address is set to Ontario.

Further if you create a new account with an Alberta address, then it would only display the GST for that account.

When testing the set up, you need to exit from your Ontario log in, delete cookies and then log back in to the Alberta account to test the tax set up. Temp files and cookies may prevent you from seeing changed data if you do not do this.
