knifeman Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 I started noticing a lot of visitors to my site from my Yahoo ads, but never understood why they came from the sites that they did. After some closer looks, I now see the text ads placed by Kontera. They claim to have the superior keyword matching software, but I fail to see it. I have started manually blocking all sites that refer people via a Kontera ad. The ads are text based and have absolutely no relevance to my keywords or products. I consider them fraudulent clicks. Yahoo has been no help. Maybe they are too busy merging with Bing? Maybe they don't care as long as the money keeps rolling in? If anyone knows how to block Kontera from placing your ads on other sites, that would be great. In the meantime, I suggest all users of Yahoo Search Marketing to watch their who's online and check the referring websites to see if you have relevant ads or just wasted click money. Tim
Guest Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Tim, Your statement pretty much sums it up: Maybe they don't care as long as the money keeps rolling in? They are as bad as Google Adwords. Chris
cliffordstoll Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I have never used yahoo PPC.. but I found google adwords and bing very helpful...
♥mdtaylorlrim Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I have never used a PPC either. I do, however, have a well maintained Google Products routine. And, I sponsor various forums specific to the product I sell. That gets me targeted traffic to my site, not irrelevant clicks that I have to pay for. Guest Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Although Adwords and Bing campaigns will drive traffic to your website, more often then not they are irrelevant links as mark has pointed out. So, as your throwing money at the internet to bring potential customers to your site remember that random clicks and high traffic volumes does not always mean sales. Anyone considering a advertising campaign should seriously consider ensuring their site is SEO before wasting money on the campaign. A modest campaign is useful but I wouldn't spend too much on them.
