Irin Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Hello, I'm looking for how to not allow the product's quantity to go below "0". For example, if the product's qty is "0" and somebody buys more of it, so the quantity will be still "0", and not a negative number. What do I need to change? Thanks.
Guest Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Irina, In the admin area, under stock, change the setting to track stock levels to true. If you want a better stock module, look at QTpro http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/888 Chris
Irin Posted August 25, 2010 Author Posted August 25, 2010 Hi Chris, I have it already set to true. I don't really need that many functions as in "QTpro" module. There must be a simple fix for that without installing the whole module, I hope. Thanks.
Guest Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Irina, As I said, the stock control DOES work on a standard installation. Have you added other contributions that have changed the code and somehow now has disabled the base code ? Chris edit: Are you using V2.2 RC2a ?
♥altoid Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Irina, As I said, the stock control DOES work on a standard installation. Have you added other contributions that have changed the code and somehow now has disabled the base code ? Chris edit: Are you using V2.2 RC2a ? I hope you don't mind me jumping in here. I have two shops, one with QT Pro..works great for tracking and stopping purchases when I am down to zero. My second site is not with QT Pro, using V2.2 RC2a my setting are: Check stock level true Subtract stock true Allow Checkout true Yet I have the same situation as Irina. For example recently a customer purchased 5 of an item, that I only had listed with a quantity of 2. So I ended up with a negative stock level. I have added a bunch of add ons that may have effected that functionality, but I am not a skilled coder and wouldn't know where to start to look. Thanks I am not a professional webmaster or PHP coder by background or training but I will try to help as best I can. I remember what it was like when I first started with osC. It can be overwhelming. However, I strongly recommend considering hiring a professional for extensive site modifications, site cleaning, etc. There are several good pros here on osCommerce. Look around, you'll figure out who they are.
malster Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 My second site is not with QT Pro, using V2.2 RC2a my setting are: Check stock level true Subtract stock true Allow Checkout true The last line "Allow Checkout True" should be false in my thinking. You are saying to OSC to allow checkout if stock is insufficient. Change to false and it will not allow them to check out with less than required stock levels.
