tmai Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 I need help with changing my admin password on osCommerce.
♥mdtaylorlrim Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 I need help with changing my admin password on osCommerce. If you presently have access then there is a password change function in the administration section. If you do not have access, but do have access to your hosts cPanel, and yave phpMyAdmin then you can EMPTY the contents of the Administrators table. Then immediately log in to your admin section. It will say No Administrators Defined (or something to that effect) and will allow you to create the administrator. Community Bootstrap Edition, Edge Avoid the most asked question. Guest Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Tina, Then one of two things is correct: 1) you are using an OLD version of osCommerce 2) whoever set up the site disabled the administrators link from the admin panel. I would suggest doing as mark said above, use phpmyadmin and empty the contents of the administrators table. Then log back into admin and it will prompt you for a new username and password. Chris

tmai Posted August 24, 2010 Author Posted August 24, 2010 What, where and how did you change, can you explain? In my hosting server, there is a section called "Manage MySQL" and i saw my username to oscommerce, so i scrolled to the right and saw the option to change my password.

You didn't change the admin password, but the database password. Thats something else. So, go back to where you went and put the old password pack Now go to your osCommerce administration panel, it should not give the error anymore. Can you access it? multimixer Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I changed it back, but I am still unable to access the administrative login.. So, ok. Follow following steps carefully 1) Go to your host cpanel 2) click on "phpMyAdmin" 3) Find your osCommerce database on the left and click on it to select it. You should see on the right a long list of tables 4) On top click on "export" 5) Down the page check the box "save as file" and then click "go" So, now you did a backup of your DB, go on 6) Click on the top of your page on your databse name (it says Database: My-database) List of tables should appear again 7) select the table "administrators" by checking the checkbox 8) Go down the page and from the dropdown select "empty" 9) click go Now go back to your admin, it will ask you to enter a new administrator My community profile | Template system for osCommerce - New: Responsive | Feedback channel
tmai Posted August 24, 2010 Author Posted August 24, 2010 Thank you so much for your help.. But now I've recently learned that my store got hacked.. When I go through my host's cpanel and try to log in to administrative from there, a hacked webpage pops up?? But when I click on my store's link from the website, it shows up fine.
multimixer Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 You mean you have no access to your cpanel? My community profile | Template system for osCommerce - New: Responsive | Feedback channel
