Retix Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 hi guys I have made a new link on my webshop and am tryin to edit the file I made for the link but I am getting the massege: Error: I can not write to this file. Please set the right user permissions on.. Any help on how to fix this Error please help I really need your help thanks for now and have a nice day/night remmy

Along with the define_language.php Your admin isn't protected by a .htaccess file and you are vulnerable to the latest hack. Use the text editor in your cPanel or FTP the file to your PC, edit it, then FTP it back. And always make backups before making changes. If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. Thanks for your help Now that you say it I can understand that The file manager in your admin is a serious threat. The problem is that I had some help creating the webshop but the webmaster who helped is to busy to help me. So I really help so I thank you… Am not so good at programming but the The way I understand what you just wrote is that. I should remove the fille manger and define_language.php? How do I do that?? And how do I protect my selv with a a .htaccess?? The cpanel is the web hosting control panel right? If so I donot have access to it right now.. the web design who help me has it. But I can get it tomorrow. So when I get it what should I edit there?? I really hope you can help me step by step.. Thanks for your time and help remmy

After that you're on your own as not all cPanels are coded the same so I couldn't say the exact clicks you have to make to achieve the desired outcome. I would use remote support if you have time!! been looking and the cpanel and can´t find "protection". and am only like 50procent sure if I can do this right. so I hAVE EMAILED THE WEBHOST.. am not sure if they have support for this but iam wait it for they answer anyways...... but really thank big time and if you can help me with this over remote I will be greatfully
