FashionSense Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 (edited) What is the difference from buying the template from these two sites: My link and My link Other than the price difference of $14? But I also got another question, if you buy these templates, will it then only be the designs you will install, or will it change the entire OSc configurations, so that it will be more difficult to implement other add-ons? or will it be exactly the same? As for contribution database it's located here! 8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues. FashionSense Posted August 18, 2010 Author Posted August 18, 2010 Are there any assistant programs which can help with that, because I think it would take me a lot of time since I would also have to program it. So it will be more difficult to use add-ons? Or what will the benefits from using a custom design be? Quote
FIMBLE Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Look for a reputable supplier that adheres to the osC code base, most template providers change the code making it very hard to add extra's. The benefits of a custom design is you get what you want and also an opportunity to get added what you want added at the same time. FashionSense Posted August 20, 2010 Author Posted August 20, 2010 Okay thanks for the replies so far :) I know I am a pain in the ass, but I have just one more question, because I asked on the page I thought about buying from if they re-coded anything in osCommerce and he said now and I asked some more stuff... Finally he referred me to a link on their homepage showing how it was done without re-installing. Can anyone tell me if any of the files he exchange will have an effect on add-ons: http://info.template-help.com/files/OsCommerce/setting_up_your_existing_shop_without_re-installing.htm Only files I could imaging having an influence is the once to the catalog folder, but would someone who knows this stuff please tell me? Thank you Quote
