newbie2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 hi! okay, so i am definately not a developer, and i have done a doosey on my site. i followed all the step by step instructions for adding the meta tag add on to my site, and completely ruined it. so i contacted my hosting company and told them what happened so they restored my site to a previous saved version. Now i have NO access to my admin pages and just get a security error and if i click on ignore and continue, i get an error code 404 - preciousscrapbooking.com/admin/login.php (port 443) any ideas?? my hosting company wont help me, so i am left in the cold.
newbie2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Author Posted August 13, 2010 sorry, this is the full error = The server can not find the requested page: preciousscrapbooking.com/admin/login.php (port 443) so i have the login.php in that filepath, could something be missing?? would i wreck anything if i just deleted this login.php and reload it with a fresh one?
newbie2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Author Posted August 13, 2010 i deleted the login.php and reinstalled it from the original package download. but it still doesn't work. can anyone help me?
germ Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Try to login with a HTTP (not HTTPS) URL. None of the SSL links on the site work. Either no SSL cert is installed, or it's installed incorrectly, or the shop is using the wrong https URL (maybe it needs to be a shared SSL URL). If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you. newbie2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Author Posted August 15, 2010 thanks germ! i didn't realize that it was my ssl issue. what happened was my hosting company didn't restore my site back onto a dedicated ip, but on a shared one, so my certificate was invalid!!! thanks for the help!
