some categories showing empty when they're not

Hi all,

 

This one has baffled me a little... :'(

 

On my site (poshkitty.co.uk) i have a category called 'personalised cards' with a number of subcategories after it. When you select the top category for cards it says in the middle of the screen that there are no products, and does not even show the sub categories in the centre of the screen??

 

if i select 'gifts to go' it shows a selection of products and also sub categories at the top to filter further.

 

but also on the cards category, if i select a sub category from the left menu (i.e. baby and children) it shows a selection of products and sub sub categories?? but why doesnt it show a selection of products and subcategories in the centre for the main cards category...

 

any help/advise offered is greatly appreciated.. my index page code is below:

Hi can anyone help me with this please or give me an idea??

 

other categories/subcategorie seam to work but this partivular one doesnt show anything in the centre when i click on it :-(

My store had a similar issue,

 

but my solution for some reason was to do with inactive/active items in the category that is not showing.

 

It's an awkward one to explain but in your admin side do yo have any

"products" in the personalised cards directory that are marked up as active?

I have loads of products that are active within the 'personalised cards' section..but in the subcategories. I do have some inactive ones's in there too.

 

its just strange it doesnt do it for the other categories, only this one..i thought it was a coding error but then it would not show right on the others as well?

Hi Again.

 

I have erased the products in the main category 'personalised cards' that are showing as inactive... as they were the only ones in there, all the other products were sorted into the subcategories. and just like you said for some reason having the inactive items there was stopping it from showing a selection on products and the sub categories. now it works like a charm...will just have to remember it incase it happens again in the future.

Glad it all worked for you too!!

 

I bet there is a fix to this somewhere, but I couldn't be bothered finding one once I knew to avoid the inactive items in the category.

 

-----------I don't know if this was on purpose but the links for "Please choose a sub-category" are in black text, and your background is in black text (the big space up above your image links)------------
